COMEDOGENIC RATING OF CARRIER OILS
Our organic oils are carefully selected according to the degree of comedogenicity. The degree of comedogenicity of an oil refers to its ability to cause clogging of pores and the formation of comedones, which are black and whiteheads, acne and other unpleasant impurities on the skin. It is divided into categories (0 - 5) based on how likely the oil is to cause these discomforts.
0 = very low degree of comedogenicity, does not cause clogging of pores.
5 = very high degree of comedogenicity, more suitable for body care products.
0-2 Low comedogenicity: Low comedogenic oils are usually less likely to clog pores and cause acne breakouts. They are more suitable for people with oilier or acne-prone skin.
2-3 Moderate comedogenicity: Some oils may have a mild pore-clogging effect on some people, but this may not be the case for everyone. For some skin types, they can be used without problems.
4-5 High degree of comedogenicity: Oils with a high degree of comedogenicity are more likely to cause clogging of pores and acne formation. These oils should be used more cautiously, especially for people with acne-prone skin.
It is important to remember that each individual's response to different oils may vary. If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin and want to use an oil on your face, I recommend choosing oils with a lower degree of comedogenicity and testing on a small area of skin to see if the oil works for you. If you have any doubts, consult a dermatologist who can recommend the most suitable products for your skin.
